How to connect Vrbo to Rentals United
- Upload your properties to Rentals United. Add them manually or via PMS/API sync. Go to My Services and add Vrbo.
- Follow the checklist with detailed instructions.
- We provide a quick and easy self-onboarding process along with training for Vrbo. In the first month, you’ll have 3 calls with an Onboarding Specialist.
- Vrbo works with Guaranteed Pricing. Make sure you have all extra fees set up in Rentals United. The price you send to Vrbo needs to be your final price.
- Once the direct connection is complete, your rates and availability will be synced in real time. Changes you make to your listing content will update once a day.
- Get your first instant booking from Vrbo via Rentals United. All bookings need to be accepted and should not be cancelled. Too many cancellations will result in low ranking for all properties in the same account.
- Vrbo will send inquiries to your email address so you can reply to them. You will also be able to read them in your Rentals United dashboard.
- Charge the guest's credit card. The details will be saved in Rentals United for 10 days only.
- Arrange arrival directly with the guest using the Vrbo messaging platform.
- Vrbo will invoice their commission monthly and email the guest for a review after check-out.

However, please note that Rentals United does not integrate any other guest communication with Vrbo. To review your messages, you need to sign in to your Vrbo.com account.

Can I cancel and modify Vrbo reservations in Rentals United?
Yes. You can make changes directly in Rentals United, whether you or the guest want to cancel or modify a reservation. Most distribution channels require you to log into their extranet to modify reservations, but for Vrbo, you can do it straight from Rentals United.
Why do I have to charge the guest?
When you list your vacation rental properties directly on Vrbo, the channel takes payments for you. However, when you distribute your property listings via a software partner such as Rentals United, Vrbo requires you to charge the guest yourself. This is very easy to do - you just need a payment provider. Rentals United integrates with Stripe, but if you’re using a PMS (property management software) or your own software, you can integrate with the payment processor of your choice.
Can I set a minimum age for my Vrbo listings in Rentals United?
No. Once the integration is complete, the minimum age for all listings will be automatically set to 18 years. However, if you want to set your minimum age higher than 18, we can build a custom solution for your Vrbo integration at an additional cost of €250.
Can my properties be Request Only?
No. When you start managing your Vrbo listings from Rentals United, your properties cannot be on the Request Only model. You need to accept both Instant Bookings and Inquiries.
Can I display my Rental Agreement on Vrbo?
Yes. You can upload your Rental Agreement in Rentals United. If you don’t have one already, you need to create a PDF document that can be accessed by anyone online through a link. For example, you can upload it to Dropbox.
