Quality Cottages is a self-funded business, now with around 30 staff working out of two locations in West Wales, near Britain’s smallest city of St. Davids (until COVID lockdown sent them home). However, they remain fully operational working remotely, and this has allowed them to keep their business going without missing a step.
Quality Cottages now runs around 450 property listings for around 400 different owners. Maintaining an emphasis on quality - it’s in the name, after all - they offer their owners exclusive marketing, access to affordable, professional services like cleaning contacts, photography and, of course, marketing and booking operations for all their holiday homes.
Before working with Rentals United, they onboarded very little inventory to large OTA websites, and they could see that they had reached an impasse, where their owners and clients were asking for this capability or beginning to look into this directly. So working with Rentals United has enabled them to onboard with stable connections and to multi-channel on their owners behalf, saving them time. They established their own internal processes to ensure due diligence while opening up new markets and audiences for their owners.

Quality Cottages’ goals for today are to sustain and grow as they have been doing. Covid has refocused their commitment to owners and customers. As such, they have continued with a steady owner recruitment and incremental increase in property and booking figures. This is more than they may have hoped for, so it's important to them to continue serving both sets of clients as best as they can. In the long run, through 2021 and into 2022, they want to grow and be a bigger entity, but to do this in a sustainable way.

Are the listings site's commissions included in your pricing?
No, they're not. Some listing sites add their commission on top of the prices you save. These channels want your net rates. Other channels will charge their commission from the prices you save. For the later, you have the possibility to mark your rates up to cover for their commission. We inform you in details how the channels work after you sign-up.
Are other connections included in your pricing?
Rentals United integrates with tech providers that help manage short-term rentals automatically. These providers include Property Management Systems, Payment Providers, Yield Managers and Operational Tools. In order to use them, you have to sign up and contract their services, and pay them separately.
What does your pricing include?
The Rentals United fee includes storing your property info, using the Channel Manager and all of our other tools: Guest Planner, Booking Engine, Guest Communication, Quality Checker, iCal sync and Multi-Calendar. There's no set-up fee: you will get training during the first month of signing up and larger accounts will get a Key Account Manager to help them grow.
