Data Analyst

Data Analyst

Rentals United is looking for a Data Analyst to work closely with product, data science, operations, and IT in measuring and analyzing our core KPIs. 

 

The successful candidate loves working with data, filtering signal from noise and has a strong understanding of how to extract useful insights from seemingly raw or feature heavy data sets. As a Data Analyst, you will be able to translate numbers into plain English. Every business collects data, whether it's sales figures, market research, logistics, or transportation costs. 

 

Your job will be to take that data and use it to help Rentals United make better business decisions. This could mean figuring out how to price new materials for the market, how to reduce sales costs, solve issues that cost the company money, or determine how many support people should be working on Saturdays... etc. 

 

Your skills are: 

 

  • Analytical Skills: data analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. You will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions.

  • Communication Skills: data analysts are often called to present their findings, or translate the data into an understandable document. You will need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.

  • Critical Thinking: data analysts must look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.

  • Attention to Detail: data is precise. Data analysts have to make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions.

  • Math Skills:  data analysts need math skills to estimate numerical data.

  • Provide analytical support to product and data science on primary KPIs

  • Work with our IT department to lead, build and organize standard insights and visuals

  • Provide analytical support to the operations team, and assist in troubleshooting data related problems.

 

What can make the difference:
 

  • Degree in a technical field, such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics, etc

  • Strong statistics fundamentals

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL, PowerBI and other analytical tools like Python, Spark, Qlik, Tableau & Cognos

  • Strong understanding of web analytics and related concepts

  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in performance advertising a huge plus

  • Experience in another data analysis language a plus

  • Knowledge & experience of SaaS metrics and models a major plus

 

This is a cross-functional position so you will have the chance to work with different teams reporting our COO!

 

Languages  

English (business level).
Other languages are a plus.
